Did you know that anesthesia or painkillers also means “Reversible lack of awareness”? Did you know that the first anesthesia was found around 4200BC on Opium poppies which is farmed through Sumeria? Ancient herbal anesthetics have variously called soporific, anodyne, and narcotics, in which depending on whether the emphasis is on reducing pain or unconsciousness?
Local anesthetics are medicines used to minimize the pain and discomforts, or it blocks the nerve impulse from receiving pain to the brain and cannot cause unconsciousness to a person. Local anesthetics have two types: Ester local anesthetics are unstable solutions and fast acting agents, examples are procaine, amethocaine, cocaine, etc.; and Amide local anesthetics are heat-stable solutions, examples are prilocaine, lidocaine, benzocaine, etc. The effects may be localized (ex. integumentary) and systematic (ex. nervous system).

Allow me discuss to you how it is administered in every patients/clients: A general anesthesia can be administered through inhalation/inhalants gas or inject liquid types. Mostly adults are first numbed with liquid intravenous anesthetics followed by anesthetic gases after they are asleep. Moreover, Children, on the other hand, may not like having an injection in them while they are awake. Therefore, they often breathe themselves to sleep with painkiller gases given through a mask; a regional anesthetic can be administered through a patient without falling asleep or making a patient unconscious. An example of these is a mother giving a birth to a child; and, a local anesthesia which are common and can buy over-the-counter, and which are commonly used in tattoo, piercings, hair removal, permanent cosmetics, tattoo removal, and many other minor surgical procedures, this local anesthetic can be administered in small area of the skin available on cream, ointments and also in inject-able type.
What are bad anesthetics? (Not literally bad, but on legalization, I mean.) These are illegal drugs which are also used commonly as painkiller. Some of them are: Opium is a narcotic formed from the latex released by lacerating the immature seed pods of opium poppies (wiki here); Morphine is a highly potent opiate analgesic drug, and the principal agent on opium, and has a high potential in addiction (wiki here); and, cocaine is a crystalline tropane alkaloid that is obtained from the leaves of coca plant, which is also called coke (wiki here).
