Peel on the Skin

The Food and Drugs Administration has officially approved ZARS Pharma’s topical local anesthetic peel, lidocaine 7% and tetracaine 7% cream. A proprietary name has not been approved by the FDA. The anesthetic cream product is indicated for use in adults, used on intact skin prior to external dermatological procedures such as dermal filler procedures, pulsed dye laser therapy, facial laser resurfacing, and laser-assisted tattoo removal. When exposed to air, the cream forms a pliable peel on the skin.
